Dodgy knees from footy years ago. These are a lifesaver on steep descents. Fold up small enough to chuck in my pack when I don't need them. Did Cradle Mountain last month - no pain at all. Should've bought them ages ago.

Thought my hiking days were done with my bad back. Son got me these and I'm back at it. Takes heaps of pressure off. Did the Heysen Track last week and felt great. Genuinely life-changing.

Fold down to the size of a wine bottle which is mint for overnight hikes. Way more convenient than my mate's poles. Straps took a bit to adjust but they're solid once you dial them in. Good buy.

Frequently asked questions

How small do they pack down?

TRAKRO FoldTrek poles fold down to just 45cm when collapsed, and the complete package (pair of poles with all accessories) measures 45×20×10cm and weighs only 0.65kg total. Compact enough to fit inside your backpack without taking up valuable space.

Will they support my weight on steep descents?

Absolutely. TRAKRO poles are built with aircraft-grade aluminium 7075 and support up to 100kg of pressure per pole. The locking mechanism stays rock solid, no slipping or collapsing when you're putting your full weight on them going downhill.

How long does it take to set them up or pack them away?

About 5 seconds each. The fold mechanism is quick and intuitive - unfold, lock, and you're ready to go. Way faster than fiddling with twist-lock telescopic poles. When you're done, just unlock and fold them back into your pack.

Are they durable enough for rocky trails?

Yes. The tungsten carbide tips grip into rocks, mud, and ice without wearing down. The aluminium 7075 construction can handle serious abuse- we've tested them on everything from alpine scrambles to muddy forest trails. They're built to last, not to break after one season.

Do they come with different tips for different terrain?

Every pair includes carbide tips (for rocks/ice), rubber tips (for pavement/rocky roads), and mud baskets (for soft ground/snow). You get everything you need to handle any trail condition right out of the box.

I brought both poles for my trip to Jordan and Israel. However, I only ever used one at a time as a tourist (I use both together at home). The single pole worked fine for balance on rough and sometimes slippery and steep paths in Jerusalem old town, at Petra and other sites. I walked a lot more than usual, and my feet and old ankle injury were fine! They fold up enough for my suitcase. I used the extra heavy tip protector.

I searched for a replacement pole after my mom knocked one off the ledge of a bluff. I like the large rubber tips that I could buy with these poles. They have always worked well in Arkansas terrain. The poles are a great price, well built and lightweight. I just took them on a hike this weekend and had zero problems on a waterfall area with slick roads and loose gravel. I am loyal to good brands so I will stick with this company. However, it does not look like I will need any poles for a long time. They will make great gifts for others though.

Spent a long day in the mountains just north of our little town in south central Alaska. The poles greatly helped this senior hiker keeping up with several young friends. Steep trail, some slick mud, scree fields, creek crossings, and a bit of glacier. The poles helped my balance on sidehills and rock piles and the ability to easily adjust poles length was a great asset. Lost one pole basket; replaced it with a goat vertebrae!
8.5 miles, 4600 feet elevation gain, 9.5 hours. Home safe before dark!

My tracking polls! I went hiking in Pennsylvania on a trail that was steep and muddy. The polls give me good balance especially climbing over fallen trees. I am older gentleman and often trip over unlevel ground. But with these polls I was much more confident. Thank you so much for a great quality item!

These trekking poles arrived promptly as promised, looking and feeling to be high quality. Instructions were simple but helpful for setup (who needs instructions for poles? Apparently...me!), and I have used them successfully in brief mountain snowshoeing and city hiking exercise. So far, I am delighted with this choice and highly recommend the product and seller to others.
Too early for a thorough assessment, but if I don't write this now I will probably forget to do so later. Still, if you don't see a later update, you can assume they continued to be great.

Excellent trekking poles - I had bought these based on the positive reviews from The Hiking Guy and comments left by satisfied Amazon customers . I am not a hiking guru by any means and have only started taking up this fun adventurous sport since 2016 - but at my age (59 and semi retired) and petite female (somewhat out of shape - 32+ years at a desk job) I needed a trekking pole that would be strong enough to occasionally lift me from a sitting position with a heavy backpack (those blasted hiking shoelaces that need constant retying) and help me navigate around various terrain (don't want to slip and bust my butt on those muddy wet trails we have here in eastern North Carolina).
